The volatile matter and moisture need to be reduced to make the lignite more suitable for the production of cement. To achieve a reduction of approximately 15 percentage points in volatile matter and about 20 percentage points in moisture, the lignite undergoes a natural drying process under the sun within a designated open area referred to as a ‘lignite yard. The Lignite sun drying is a separate activity independent of the transportation done. The entire activity consists of the following sub-activities utilizing the respective equipment. The sun drying activity starts after a loaded lignite truck reaches the ‘lignite yard’ in Sanghipuram. We handle 10,000 to 15,000 tons of lignite per day for sun drying.
